Blog recap here!

This great hike goes up to the wonderful Gunsight Lake which is nestled in a cirque surrounded by towering cliffs. On one side you have Mt. Jackson and the other you have Gunsight Peak with Gunsight Pass in the middle. The hike starts at Jackson Glacier Overlook and drops into the trees and passes Deadwood Falls. After wandering through trees and passing Mirror Pond, you begin to emerge above the treeline with views at Jackson Glacier and waterfalls in the distance. Mt. Jackson towers in front of you and a look back gives you wonderful views of Going-to-the-Sun Mountain looking down into the St. Mary Valley.

The hike is a moderate hike that is 12.4 miles long with 800 ft elevation gain.
