“Explore, Learn, and Protect!”
That’s the Junior Ranger motto, and we hope it’s being recited all day today for National Junior Ranger Day. Today also kicks off National Park Week, a time to celebrate our amazing parks and visit virtually this year.
Thanks to your support, the Glacier Conservancy funds the supply of thousands of Junior Ranger booklets each season. It’s one of the many ways your donations help connect children with Glacier National Park. Even though Junior Rangers typically earn their badges while visiting national parks, aspiring Junior Rangers of all ages can still get involved this year with many digital resources.
Junior Ranger Activities
While we’re unable to visit the park right now, you can still access Glacier’s Junior Ranger booklet online via the park’s website. The activity booklet provides opportunities to explore and learn all about our wonderful park, while having a lot of fun doing it!
- Connect the dots between the park’s namesake glaciers
- Match animals to their habitats
- Learn how to Leave No Trace
- Move through Glacier’s history
- Discover what native Blackfeet and Kootenai names mean
Your support is also funding the redesign of Glacier’s Junior Ranger booklet. Stay tuned for more updates to come about the availability of this new booklet. In the meantime, learn more about Glacier’s Junior Ranger program, and how your support is providing educational opportunities for kids of all ages.

Junior Ranger Programs at Other Parks
There are many other ways to celebrate National Junior Ranger Day and earn your badges at other national parks too. Nearly every park has a Junior Ranger page on their website. The National Park Service provides a helpful list to what each of these parks has to offer.
After you “explore” in Glacier, check out our neighbors in Yellowstone y Grand Teton. These parks even allow you to earn your Junior Ranger badges from the comfort of home.
If you need more inspiration, the National Park Foundation provides recommendations on several national parks and monuments where you can earn additional badges online.
