Show your love for Glacier every mile

In August 2020, Glacier Lovers voted on a new license plate design that shows a stunning view of the northern lights above St. Mary Lake. We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone who has purchased this plate thus far. If you currently have a Glacier plate, you may keep that plate as long as you wish, or you can change to the new plate beginning January 1, 2022.

The cost of the plates and renewing them each year includes a donation that goes directly to the Glacier National Park Conservancy. By purchasing these plates, you show your support for the Glacier National Park Conservancy and the important work being done at Glacier National Park.

The license plates are available for $45 at all Montana Department of Motor Vehicles county offices. There is a one-time processing fee of $10 and a one-time production charge of $10 with the remaining $25 going to the Glacier National Park Conservancy. The plates must be renewed annually and can be personalized (six characters or less) for an additional fee. You must register your vehicle annually to display the Glacier National Park Specialty plates on your vehicle.

Any individual or business who owns a passenger car, pickup, van, sport utility vehicle, motor home, large truck or bus that is registered in Montana may display the Glacier Park specialty plate.
