Renowned Montana artist, Monte Dolack, in partnership with Pendleton Blankets, brings his signature style to a limited edition Glacier National Park blanket to benefit Glacier National Park Conservancy.
“I grew up a fan of Pendleton with a great love for Glacier National Park, so it was a delight to collaborate with Pendleton and the Conservancy on this effort to support Conservancy programs in Glacier National Park,” said Monte Dolack.
Only 250 blankets will be produced – proceeds from this limited edition blanket will fund education, preservation and research programs in Glacier National Park.
“We are very pleased to be working with Pendleton and Monte on this project,” said Mark Preiss, president of the Conservancy. “Monte’s artistic vision and Pendleton’s craftsmanship capture Glacier’s heritage. This partnership is a perfect example of individuals and businesses coming together to the benefit of Glacier National Park.”
The Glacier limited blanket was unveiled at the Conservancy Backpacker’s Ball held earlier this fall. This signature fundraising event for the Conservancy raised more than $100,000 for Glacier National Park programs, nearly twice the amount raised during the same event one year ago. The Pendleton wool blanket features a mountain goat with the jagged peaks of Glacier National Park in the background and the words “GLACIER PARK” followed by “MONTANA USA”.
“When discussing creating a fund raising blanket for the Conservancy, Monte Dolack’s “Glacier Park” poster from the 1980’s was our first choice,” said Bob Christnacht of Pendleton Woolen Mills. “The iconic elements brought forth in the original poster were ideal for translating into a Pendleton blanket. We are proud to be able to support the efforts of the Conservancy in helping to preserve one of our greatest treasures.”
