[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last fall, through the support of generous donors like you, Glacier National Park completed a significant stabilization effort to protect the Sperry Chalet remnant dormitory walls from snow loads and high winds expected this winter after sustaining significant damage during last summer’s Sprague Fire. It appears that thus far those efforts have been successful, and that no extreme events like avalanches have occurred.
Once a month, from February through May, a fixed-wing plane with a photographer, hired by the Glacier National Park Conservancy, will fly over Sperry Chalet to inspect the structure after stabilization and in the midst of a record winter snowpack.
