The Glacier National Park Conservancy is pleased to announce the appointment of Tagen Vine as its next leader, effective later this spring. Tagen succeeds Doug Mitchell, who is retiring after nine years of dedicated service to the Conservancy.
Tagen brings over three decades of experience in nonprofit leadership and philanthropy to the role. He most recently served as Chief Development Officer at Flathead Valley Community College, and prior to that spent 15 years as President of the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation, where he led major fundraising initiatives, expanded the organization’s philanthropic impact, and cultivated meaningful donor relationships across the Flathead Valley and the broader Montana philanthropic community.
“Tagen’s depth of experience and proven track record in leading successful fundraising efforts, along with his ability to build strong community partnerships, make him the right leader to advance the Conservancy’s mission. The Board is confident he will strengthen our partnerships, expand our impact, and ensure Glacier National Park continues to receive the philanthropic support it needs and deserves,” said Joe Raudabaugh, Board Chair of the Glacier National Park Conservancy.
“The Glacier National Park Conservancy is an indispensable partner in our work to preserve and protect this incredible place. I congratulate Tagen on his appointment and look forward to our collaboration for the support for Glacier National Park,” said Dave Roemer, Superintendent, Glacier National Park.
“It is a tremendous honor to join the Glacier National Park Conservancy. Glacier is a treasured place to me, as well as being one of the most spectacular and ecologically significant places on Earth. The Conservancy’s role in supporting the park is vital. I am eager to build on the organization’s strong foundation alongside the dedicated staff, board, and partners who make this mission possible,” said Tagen Vine, incoming President, Glacier National Park Conservancy.
Tagen’s Glacier Favorites:
Trail: “Siyeh Pass Trail from Siyeh Bend to Sunrift Gorge, for the wildflowers, the sweeping views at the saddle, and the vivid colors of the gorge.”
Memories: “A face off on a steep trail with a bighorn sheep, chasing my three young girls up the Avalanche Lake Trail, and a backpack up the Belly River with my wife, Carrie.”
Trail snack: “I’m a classic GORP guy”
Favorite animal: “The wolf; I have been haunted by the howl of the wolf on camping trips and admire that they mate for life, and their loyalty to their pack. Also, the majestic moose, which always looks bigger in person than I ever imagined!”
