This project would involve re-routing part of the trail from the Gunsight Pass Trail to the Lake Ellen Wilson Campground. Once the new alignment is established, the old trail will be rehabilitated and revegetated. The current trail alignment is unsustainable from a maintenance perspective, as it has degraded significantly due to its steep grades and its proximity to seasonal creek flows. The existing trail tread is steep, uneven, and presents a hazard to hikers and stock.
